Still May

In May we had the most changes; trenches were dug, roofs reinforced, we lived with a ton (or more) of cement bricks in front of the house and began getting used to the pervasive presence of dirt and, when it rained, mud.

We had to enter our house via planks that changed daily to suit the needs of the different building stages, were surrounded by workers at every turn but, in general, it was an orderly process, looking like chaos only to outsiders.

Inside, we had not even begun to experience the full impact, as all of the work was being done outside and would connect to the house only at the end.
