Early May - the house looks normal enough from the street, but, in the back, the garage wall is gone and the entire thing looks like some giant carnivore just took a swipe. Our ancient refrigerator, washer and dryer are in the garage. My parents worry that "someone will steal them"... as if someone would go through the trouble of taking them!
It's odd to go out and live without walls. There is now no light, so we need to do laundry either during the day or with flashlights.
Our neighbors look and some of the more courageous ones come over and ask us what we are doing.
