June - Grinding to a Halt

In June we were all gung-ho about the possibility of actually finishing on time. Little did we know. The garage roof, the same garage roof that the architect had visited, that I paid an engineer to review... the architect and the engineer just could not get it to work.

All in all there were six different drawings to fix the beams and tie one roof to another. Six tries that took over a month and a half of wasted time.

What's worst is that both, the architect and the engineer continually found excuse after excuse and, at the end, pretty much washed their hands from the entire affair with a lame excuse about how old the house was, etc.

It makes you wonder about professional accountability and well... professionalism period!
